It was Aubert, bishop of Avranches, who on the instructions of the archangel Michael, chief of the heavenly hosts, built the first church here and consecrated it on 16 October 709.

Every day, 70 artisans cut, assemble, hammer, strike, polish, stamp, shape 1300 brand utensils.
The hammering and manual manufacture of cult pieces such as fishmongers and embers require a know-how that is transmitted from generation to generation within the manufacture itself.
The company also offers visits to its manufacture, masterclasses and cooking classes.
